CfE and the Referendum to leave the EU

We don't know how you voted, or how you feel about the decision to leave the the European Union, taken on the 23rd of June, but for many it was a surprising result.

As the bulk of our funding come to us from the European Regional Development Fund, the first thing for us to do was to speak to European Commission officials and with Local Government officials to try to ascertain what that future looks like for this type of funding.

The information that we have received from the LEPs so far, is that we are awaiting some more detailed guidance from managing authorities. However, the good news is that any activity, which is currently contracted, is not at risk.

This means that our current business support programmes, the Greater Manchester Growth Programme, Cheshire and Warrington Growth and SMART Cheshire, are not at risk, and will continue to be delivered as before.

Contact us to express your interest in these programmes as normal.

The key message from both managing authorities is that despite the unusual circumstances, it is still business as usual.
