Ian Gibbs is Fellow within the Centre for Enterprise responsible for developing commercial and research based relationships. This covers a range of activities including consultancy, forming spin-in and spin-out companies, structuring commercial short courses, developing joint ventures and commercialising university IPR. Companies Ian currently engages with range from Multi-National Corporates, to SMEs and micro-business from sectors including Engineering, Computing, Financial Services, Manufacturing and the Creative Industries.
Before joining MMU, Ian was Director of Enterprise at The London College of Communication (University of Arts) where he was responsible for developing and delivering the University's Knowledge Exchange strategy. This included high profile engagements with companies ranging from Microsoft and Nike, to SMEs within Retail and Financial Service sectors. Prior to joining the University of the Arts, Ian was Head of Enterprise and Employer Engagement at the University of West London. This followed a period of seven years as Senior Business Development Manager and Research Associate at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
He has a BSc in Science and Society, and a post-graduate degree in Management from Henley Business School, University of Reading.
